The island was once a beautiful, tropical, peaceful island. Its people lived in tranquility with its animals; there was fun, innocence, and romance all over the island. Many creatures and plants thrived. A large town containing of huts built of sticks and stones stood firmly in the midst of the dense jungle. The island was so far out in the ocean that not many knew of it. In order to keep the island in order, there was a monarchy taking control. The royal family was a nice one; they offered help to many of its people and treated everyone fairly. The Storms ruled the island generation after generation for almost a century.
Then the mist came. It was evil, foul, dense, and it had covered nearly the entire island at once upon its arrival. A strange howling started to echo in the night; the feeling of cold and dread filled up every room within seconds. A hoarse voice whispered from time to time. The mist had brought fear, despair, pain, and dangerous creatures to the island. People had started to disappear one by one. Shipwrecks started to occur so often it wasn't funny. Humans and animals alike started to go mad. Blood would always be found here or there, fresh or dried. A mystery had started; what was taking the people? What was howling at night? Scratch marks were often found in the stone walls of the huts; people had fled from the once-cheerful town and into the jungle, where they started their own small village.
Another century had passed; the town was in ruins now. Half of the island was still submerged in the mist; part of the island itself had changed. From afar, one would think that the island was a peaceful place with just an active volcano. They are wrong.
The time period we're playing in are the Victorian period; if you've read the book by Charles thingyens, "Oliver Twist", you'd understand how things are. If you need help, inform a staff member. The weather varies; you can choose your own weather but if you're to be role-playing your character walking around at night please try to make it foggy. The night is when the mist pulls it magic on its unsuspecting inhabitants, so please keep that in mind.
